Picture this: you're on the hunt for the perfect job, but sifting through countless job boards and websites is draining your energy. Enter SimplyHired, a website that aggregates job listings from various sources, making your search a piece of cake. But what if you want to take it a step further and extract valuable data from SimplyHired without revealing your identity or risking a ban? The answer is simple: use proxies.

A Brief Overview of SimplyHired

SimplyHired is a website that aggregates all the job listings job seekers can typically find in employment websites and boards. It allows job seekers to easily find the position they’re looking for without having to scroll through numerous websites. SimplyHired is easy to use and it has a lot of features that help job seekers quickly find their desired job.

As SimplyHired gathers all the information about job postings, it has a lot of valuable data that users want. Manually extracting that data though would take a lot of time and effort so you need to utilize a web scraping tool if you want to do it quickly and efficiently. If a website detects that you’re using a web scraper though would cause your account to be immediately banned.

To avoid getting banned and still use a web scraping tool, you need to use a SimplyHired proxy. A proxy will act as a gateway between your device and the internet so any website you visit will only be able to see the IP address of the proxy and not your own. With a residential proxy, websites will not be able to detect that you’re using a proxy or a web scraper, so you won’t ever get banned.

Let’s set up a SimplyHired proxy server.

How To Use Proxies With SimplyHired

For Windows:

To set up proxies in Windows, simply search for “Proxy Settings” in your windows search bar and open the search result.

If you chose the first option, then:

  1. Turn on Automatically detect Settings
  2. Turn on Use setup script
  3. Enter the script address
  4. Click Save

  2. Input both server address and port number
  3. If you have any addresses you would like to visit without a proxy, enter them here
  4. Turn on Don’t use the proxy server for local addresses check box if you want to access a local server without a proxy
  5. Click Save

This should then redirect you to MacOS proxy settings. MacOS is more straightforward compared to windows. You only have one option which is to manually configure your proxy server.

Here are the steps to follow:

  1. Select which proxy IP protocol you want to configure. This depends on which protocols your proxy service provider offers.
  2. Turn on Secure Web Proxy
  3. Input the Proxy Server Address and Port Number
  4. Click OK to save the configurations

Note: You may be prompted for your Mac user password to save your settings.
